1.Commonplace
Definition:(adj) Not unusual or often seen. 平常的,普通的
(n) Something that happens or exists in many places, so that it is not unusual.常事
E.g. a) Free Wi-Fi in coffee shops is commonplace these days.
b) It is a commonplace for people to keep a pet these days.
2.Automation
Definition:(U) Using a machine to do something instead of a human. 自動化,自動操作
E.g. a) Automation in the car making industry has led to the loss of hundreds of jobs.
b) Automation has decreased the need for a large, highly skilled work force.
3.Prototype
Definition:(C) The first design of something from which other forms are copied or developed. 原型
E.g a) The prototype of a new solar-powered bike has been so successful that it's now going into mass production.
b) There's a prototype of a new car.
4.Far-fetched
Definition:(adj) Very unlikely to be true and difficult to believe. 牽強的,靠不住的
E.g. a) People once thought far-fetched is now a reality.
b) The whole story sounds very far-fetched.
5.Vacuum
Definition:(n) A space that has had all the air and other gases removed from it. 真空
(v) to use a vacuum cleaner to collect dust, dirt, etc. 用真空吸塵器清掃
E.g. a) The plan for Virgin's Hyperloop One is to make a maglev even faster by putting it in a vacuum tube.
b) They sent him along to vacuum the carpets.
